How to Create an Icon from an Image

Turn an image into an ICO icon file with the image converter in Photo Editor.

Steps

  1. Step 1: Download and Install Photo Editor

    Download the Photo Editor installer, then run it to install Photo Editor.

  2. Step 2: Run Photo Editor and Click Convert Image

    On the start screen, click Convert Image to open the image converter.

  3. Step 3: Add Your Images

    Click Add Photo in the top-left corner and select the image you want to turn into an icon.

  4. Step 4: Choose ICO as the Output Format

    Under Convert To, click ICO.

  5. Step 5: Choose the Icon Sizes

    Click Resize. In the Resize window, check the icon sizes you want, from 256 x 256 down to 16 x 16, then click OK.

  6. Step 6: Set the Destination Folder and Click Convert Now!

    Under Destination folder, choose where the new files will be saved, then click Convert Now!
